Castello Errante 2026: Meet the Finalists of the 10th Edition
Everything is ready for the tenth edition of Castello Errante – International Film Residency, which from October 1, 2026 will once again bring together young filmmakers from Italy and Latin America. Hosting this new edition will be Isola Polvese, on Lake Trasimeno in Umbria, which will become a set, a workshop and a meeting place for different cultures, languages and sensibilities.
The international CREW is made up of professionals under 35 selected through this year’s Calls:
- Abril Jenkins Bianchini (Costa Rica) – costume design
- Ana Belen Armas (Argentina) – set design department
- Andrea Gabriela Portillo (Ecuador) – sound department
- Camilla Francini (Italy) – documentary director
- Carlos Aparicio Flores Montoya (Peru) – set design department
- Diego Padilla Davila (Mexico) – fiction director
- Elisa Fioritto (Italy) – DOP
- Federica Butera (Italy) – composer
- Lucas Emilio Llauquen Galleguillos (Chile) – second assistant camera
- Mariana Sandoval Vargas (Colombia) – first assistant camera
- Rodrigo Urbina (Mexico) – sound department
- Samantha Marie Solis Salazar (Costa Rica) – production assistant
The editor and first assistant director positions are still being selected and will be announced shortly.
From October 1 to 12, 2026, the group will take part in an initial online phase with masterclasses and sessions on screenwriting, directing, sound, cinematography and production, led by international instructors and professionals. Afterwards, from October 17 to 31, 2026, Isola Polvese will host the crew in person, becoming a true set immersed in the lake: a training and production experience that weaves together cinema and territory, tradition and innovation.
SCREENPLAY
The screenplay selected for the fiction short is “Una nuova luce fuori” by Julia Bonetto (Argentina). Special mention also goes to “Così che barzelletta” by Nicolas Rivero Fossati (Bolivia), “L’albero dei limoni” by Laura Daniela Dosa Acevedo (Colombia) and “Milagros” by Federica Dordei and Isabella Delle Monache (Italy). The authors of the mentioned screenplays will have the opportunity to take part in the online screenwriting masterclasses as auditors and will be contacted in the coming days for further details.
