Castello Errante 2026: Meet the Finalists of the 10th Edition

The tenth edition of Castello Errante – Residenza Internazionale del Cinema finally has its protagonists: the new CREW that, starting October 1, 2026, will bring together young film professionals from Italy and Latin America. A special milestone, the tenth, opens with an unprecedented journey to a suggestive location in Umbria region, which for a month will become a set, a creative workshop and a meeting point for different cultures, languages and sensibilities.

The international CREW is made up of professionals under 35 selected through this year’s Calls:

The first camera assistant, editor and first assistant director positions are still being selected and will be announced shortly.

From October 1 to 12, 2026, the group will take part in an initial online phase with masterclasses and sessions on screenwriting, directing, sound, cinematography and production, led by international instructors and professionals. Afterwards, from October 17 to 31, 2026, Umbria will host the crew in person: a training and production experience that weaves together cinema and territory, tradition and innovation.

SCREENPLAY

The screenplay selected for the fiction short is “Una nuova luce fuori” by Julia Bonetto (Argentina).

Special mention also goes to “Così che barzelletta” by Nicolas Rivero Fossati (Bolivia), “L’albero dei limoni” by Laura Daniela Dosa Acevedo (Colombia) and “Milagros” by Federica Dordei and Isabella Delle Monache (Italy).

The authors of the mentioned screenplays will have the opportunity to take part in the online masterclasses dedicated to screenwriting and script development.
