On Wednesday, October 16, starting at 5:30 PM, Castello Errante, the International Film Residency, will be hosted at the Lazio Land of Cinema Space by the Lazio Region at AuditoriumArte (Auditorium Parco della Musica, Rome) as part of the Rome Film Festival to present the 8th edition of its project. This format innovatively supports the audiovisual sector by offering a training and production experience for young aspiring directors, screenwriters, filmmakers, and other professionals, while also working on the promotion and enhancement of the villages of the Lazio Region.

Castello Errante is a unique and unconventional training model that brings together Italian and Latin American professionals through a particularly stimulating working approach, promoting international exchanges between Italy and Latin America.

The project, which has recently announced the names of the young professionals participating in the new edition, is structured in two phases: from October 14 to 30 for masterclasses in screenwriting, directing, sound, and cinematography led by major international industry experts, and for pre-production meetings of the audiovisual works that will be produced in the location hosting the residency. The residency itself will take place from November 6 to 19, when the crew will be present at the selected location for the 2024 edition: the village of Montenero Sabino (Rieti). Among the various national and international professionals participating in this edition are screenwriter Valia Santella and director Michelangelo Frammartino.

On October 16 at 5:30 PM, the project and the new edition’s content will be presented, featuring Tamara Gómez Marín, Minister Counselor and Consul General of the Costa Rican Embassy in Italy, along with producers Francesco Virga and Salvatore Lizzio, and the talented young director Antonio Donato, who, together with distributor Adam Selo, founder and manager of Sayonara Film, will discuss “L’ultimo giorno dell’orso”, a short film entirely produced and created during the 2023 International Residency.

Castello Errante’s goal remains to combine research and training in the audiovisual field in a diversified context, away from large cities. It is a new model of audiovisual production that promotes significant cultural and economic dissemination in decentralized areas, along with a strong international projection of Lazio and Italy in Latin America.

Castello Errante is a project organized by Occhi di Giove S.r.l. with the support of: the Ministry of Culture and the Lazio Region; in collaboration with IILA – Italian-Latin American International Organization, Roma Lazio Film Commission, AANT – Academy of Arts and New Technologies, Doc/it – Italian Documentary Association, Red TAL – Union of Public and Cultural Channels of Latin America, and the Embassies of Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, Colombia, Cuba, Guatemala, Honduras, Haiti, Mexico, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, Uruguay, and Venezuela, along with a rich network of national and international festivals and cultural partners.
